Slide and Negative Scanning
Scanning Slides and Negative film is one of our specialities, our parent company, The Slide Printer has been developing and printing film since the mid 1970's. We offer four levels of scanning based on what your end results will be.
We can scan Slide (E6) and Negative (C41) film and all sizes of film. Ranging from standard 35mm to 8x10 transparencies.
We use professional film scanners to scan all film. Our main scanners are a pair of Kodak HR 500s, backed up by Howtek Drum Scanner, which handles all of the large format scanning.
We clean everything we scan by hand. Once your film has been scanned, using Digital ICE when possible, it is inspected, renamed to fit your needs and placed on the media that you choose. You will also receive a standard 4x6 index print of every image that is scanned. 8x10 contact sheets can be provide at an extra cost.
Depending on the level of scan you decide on, we perform further cleaning using film cleaner. Once your film is scanned we perform color correction or color matching, further cleaning and whatever corrections are necessary to ensure that your scan is print ready.
We have been handling Slide and Negative film since the 1970's and we take great pride in the service we have built. We have, and always will be, gear towards the professional market but we see the need for a better level of service when it comes the the preservation of family memories and we want to deliver a similar service for those family needs.

Then we have Level l scan which are good for 4x6 and 5x7 prints. Our Level ll scans are for prints up to 11x16 and our Pro Scans are for large format printing.

Slide or E6 Film
E6 film, better know as Slide Film, has been around for ages. It was a common film and was just for projecting. You needed a slide projector and you were able to project the image on a screen. All of the major film companies made E6 or Slide Film and we have been printing and scanning slide film forever.
Negative or C41 Film
Negative film or C41 film, has need around for a very long time and is the only film that is found in disposable cameras. This was a very common form of film and was widely used in the consumer marketplace. This film looks a little strange when you look at it and that is because the image is reversed in color space, hence why it is called a negative. We have been handling this for decades and are more than comfortable scanning this film type.
